J&J Study Bible ("the App") is built by Joel Maillard. This policy explains how the App handles your information.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to any server:

• Bookmarks, highlights, and notes you create while studying the Bible
• Study topics and reading progress
• AI chat history from your conversations with the Bible study assistant
• App preferences such as your selected language, Bible version, theme, and audio settings

All of this data is stored exclusively in local databases on your device. It is not backed up to any external server.

AI Features

The App includes an AI-powered Bible study assistant. This feature runs entirely on your device using a locally downloaded language model. Your questions and the AI's responses are:

• Processed locally on your device
• Never sent to any external server or API
• Stored only in local chat history on your device

AI Model Downloads

The App downloads AI language model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) to enable the Bible study assistant. These downloads are the only network requests the App makes. No personal data is transmitted during these downloads.

In-App Purchases

The App offers optional donations through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. The App does not collect, store, or have access to any payment information.

Analytics and Tracking

The App does not use any analytics services, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or device identifiers.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services other than:

• Apple StoreKit for processing optional donations (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
• Hugging Face for downloading AI model files (no personal data transmitted)

Children's Privacy

The App is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for users of all ages. The App includes content filtering to ensure the AI assistant provides only age-appropriate, Bible-focused responses. Since no personal data is collected from any user, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all App data at any time by:

• Deleting the App from your device (removes all local data)
• Using the "Clear Chat History" option within the App to remove AI conversation history

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
